Russia – Holland 2009

On 19 June 2009 a bi-lingual, colour supplement to The Moscow Times will be published. The “Russia-Holland” supplement is an annual business publication, devoted to the partnership between Russian and Dutch companies.

This year the magazine is timed to coincide with the most glorious event in the cultural co-operation between the two countries for the last decade – the opening of Hermitage Amsterdam. The unique exhibition centre will be opened on the 19 June by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev.

03 August 2006UnknownPutin's Shipbuilding Plan President Vladimir Putin asked for a government plan by October to enable the nation's shipbuilders to compete with countries including South Korea, the world's biggest shipbuilder. Russia ""must find niches where it will be most competitive,"" Putin told a government meeting in Moscow on Tuesday, according to transcripts of his speech posted on the Kremlin web site. Building ships, rigs and naval vessels offers ""serious niches"" for Russia, he said. Russia is not among the top-20 shipbuilding nations. ""Russia is not a major player at the moment,"" said Mark Jenkins, a research director at London-based shipbrokers Simpson, Spence & Young. ""It is a strange direction in which to move. As far as commercial shipping markets are concerned, they have very much missed the boat.
